• The flagship G390SS is a 155L storage unit suited to households of up to 6 people, running at mains pressure with fast recovery.
• The G270SS at 130L suits households of 2-4. All gas hot water models are outdoor-only and available in both natural gas and LPG configurations.

Electric storage: The electric storage range includes units from 50 litres up to 400 litres, with popular models like the AquaMAX 315 and AquaMAX 200 commonly installed in family homes and investment properties.

The tanks are internally lined with vitreous enamel to resist corrosion and operate at mains pressure. And they’re real workhorses – straightforward, widely available, and easy to replace like-for-like when an older unit gives out.

The stainless steel range exceeds MEPS (Minimum Energy Performance Standards) by up to 27%, and every gas model in the range carries a 5-star AGA rating.

The electric hot water range is less remarkable on efficiency – as with all electric storage systems – but performs to standard and benefits from off-peak tariff compatibility.

2. Reliability & build quality – 9/10

The stainless steel cylinder is the standout feature across the premium range. Stainless steel units do not include a sacrificial anode to prevent corrosion (because they don’t need one), meaning anode inspections and replacements are not needed – and non-anode units deliver purer water to the kitchen and bathroom.

The enamel electric range carries a shorter warranty period – but it’s backed by Rheem’s national service network, which means support is available across Brisbane and beyond without difficulty.

5. Ease of installation & serviceability – 9/10

From an installer’s perspective, AquaMAX systems are well-engineered and therefore straightforward to work with – so yes, we do like them!

Replacement jobs – particularly like-for-like electric swaps – are efficient. Gas installations require a licensed gas fitter as always, but the systems are well-designed for the process. Parts availability across Brisbane is excellent.
